SSI/OR Safety Kick-Off In-Person Conference

*While the keynote addresses will be delivered in New York City, NYSPFP is offering this program in multiple regional locations to allow as many members of hospital surgical teams as possible to participate.
NYSPFP will launch its Surgical Site infection (SSI) prevention and Operating Room (OR) Safety initiative through an in-person conference in February, multiple regional sessions will be held to allow as many clinical staff to participate as possible. During these sessions, NYSPFP will provide an overview of the initiative. Ms. Caroline Jacobs, will provide an introduction to quality improvement tools and techniques to improve surgical safety and Dr. Patchen Dellinger will present the evidence behind the program’s approach and goals, share successful strategies and guide hospital teams in developing their initial quality improvement action plans. Faculty will be available at all regional sites to facilitate team planning. Surgical teams will have ample opportunity for question and discussion throughout the session.

Who Should Attend

NYSPFP encourages your hospital’s SSI/OR Safety Surgical Champions (including at a minimum, surgeon, anesthetist, OR nurse). NYSPFP will webcast the event to multiple regional sites to encourage hospitals to send as many staff as possible. Quality improvement and infection prevention staffs are also encouraged to attend.
