NYSPFP TeamSTEPPS Webinar Series: Strategies for Executive Leadership and Physician Engagement

Wednesday, October 24, 2012
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Based on participating hospitals’ feedback, as a follow up to the regional TeamSTEPPS training sessions offered last May through July, NYSPFP is holding a three-part educational series to help support your institutions’ efforts to implement TeamSTEPPS strategies.

The first Webconference in this series will focus on practical tips for how to effectively engage hospital executives, as well as physicians, to become more involved in teamwork. Given the importance of leadership in patient safety, and what the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has learned about the role of leadership buy-in, support and direct involvement in the success of TeamSTEPPS, this webinar will highlight strategies for securing active and direct involvement of leadership to ensure success with your hospital’s TeamSTEPPS initiative. Additionally, attendees will learn strategies for getting physicians more involved in teamwork-based initiatives, such as providing data related to the effect of teamwork on patient safety and including physicians as team members and leaders early on in the process.
