The NYSPFP VTE Regional Meetings offer training focused primarily on the implementation of a hospital VTE prevention protocol and provide education to help hospitals achieve success in the VTE core measures.
The first part of the program will feature physician experts and focus on evidence-based best practices and strategies to reduce VTE-related harm in the medical and surgical populations. Clinical staff (all prescribers, including physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners) and quality staff are highly encouraged to attend this portion of the meeting.
The second part of the program will focus on VTE core measures training to prepare data abstractors and other staff to begin CMS core measure data collection. In addition to NYSPFP staff and local physician experts, each meeting will feature Vicky Agramonte, R.N., M.S.N., Project Manager at IPRO, who has also served as faculty for VTE Learning Networks across the nation under the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
