CLABSI Outside of the ICU Setting: Three Hospital Experiences

Wednesday, July 18, 2012
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
This Webconference will focus on the progress that hospitals have made in implementing the CLABSI Initiative outside of the ICU. Central line maintenance is a pertinent issue through many areas of the hospital, and successful dissemination and sustainability of CLABSI prevention efforts involves changes in both practice and culture, as well as a focus on the critical role of nursing. Speakers from Beth Israel Medical Center, Highland Hospital of Rochester, and New York-Presbyterian Hospital will discuss their experiences implementing CLABSI reduction programs beyond the critical care setting. During this Webconference, hospitals will also have an opportunity to ask questions and to share and discuss with peers the successes and barriers they have encountered during the launch and roll-out of their CLABSI Initiative activities.

Speakers

• Brian Koll, MD, FACP, FIDSA, Medical Director and Chief, Infection Prevention, Beth Israel Medical Center
• Sharon Johnson, MBA, CPHQ, Director, Quality Management, Highland Hospital of Rochester
• New York-Presbyterian Hospital
