The New York State Department of Health (DOH) and NYSPFP will be launching the New York State Perinatal Quality Collaborative (NYSPQC) Obstetrical Improvement Project through two in-person learning sessions on July 24 and July 26, 2012. During these sessions, DOH and NYSPFP will provide an overview of NYSPQC, including its goals, objectives, and overall measurement strategy. National clinical experts will also present the evidence behind the program’s goals and approach and will guide hospital obstetrics (OB) teams in developing their initial quality improvement action plans. OB teams will also have ample opportunity for question and discussion throughout the sessions.

OB teams can choose to attend one of the two sessions, as both will cover the same content.

• Peter Cherouny, MD, Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, University of Vermont, College of Medicine
• Patricia Heinrich, RN, MSN, Quality Improvement Consultant
• DOH Staff
• NYSPFP Staff

Who Should Attend

NYSPFP/NYSPQC encourages your OB team to join one of these in-person learning sessions. This includes, at a minimum, your OB clinical and data leads, in addition to any other key staff (e.g., physician and nurse champions) that will be involved in implementation and data collection and submission.
