NYSPFP SSI Prevention Webinar: Implementing the American College of Surgeons' Strong for Surgery Bundle

Please join NYSPFP on June 15 for a webinar on implementing the American College of Surgery’s (ACS) Strong for Surgery bundle. The Strong for Surgery bundle contains multiple tools for optimizing patients in the pre-surgical period, addressing nutrition, medications, smoking, and blood glucose. The bundle applies to patients undergoing many types of surgery, including colon, gynecology, orthopedics, and cardiac.

Speakers
A team from CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texas will discuss how they implemented the Strong for Surgery tools at their hospital, and will highlight the impact of the new approach on reducing complications in surgical patients and on improving overall workflow for peri-operative staff.

Who Should Attend

NYSPFP encourages surgeons, anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, infection preventionists, and staff from preadmission offices and surgical clinics to participate in the webinar. Other physician and nurse surgical subspecialists and quality improvement/patient safety staff involved in reducing SSI rates and enhancing surgical safety are also encouraged to participate.
