NYSPFP SSI Prevention Webinar: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery in Combination with the Advanced Colon Bundle

On September 7, 2017, NYSPFP will host a webinar on the role of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) in the reduction of surgical site infections (SSI).

The webinar’s speaker, Dr. Mantyh, will review the evidence behind ERAS protocols for colon surgery, and how ERAS can be combined with the advanced colon bundle to achieve further significant reductions in SSI. In addition to sharing how Duke’s team operationalized ERAS, Dr. Mantyh will share the protocols his team developed to hardwire ERAS “into the workflow for perioperative care.”

Who Should Attend

NYSPFP encourages colorectal and general surgeons, anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, infection preventionists, and staff from the preadmission office and surgical clinics to attend the webinar. Other physician and nurse surgical subspecialists and quality improvement/patient safety staff involved in reducing SSI rates are also encouraged to attend.
