NYSPFP Sepsis Webinar: Fluid Management

Wednesday, June 7, 2017
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
On June 7, NYSPFP will host a statewide webinar on sepsis fluid management. Part of a web-based series of educational programs, it will offer strategies on reliable adherence to best practices for managing septic patients.

The webinar will feature a multidisciplinary team from Kaiser Permanente Northern California that recently published the results of a multicenter quality improvement effort. The effort resulted in improved bundle compliance and decreased hospital mortality for sepsis patients. The team will detail the state of the evidence in fluid management and discuss the results of a bundle for sepsis patients with intermediate lactate values. In addition, the team will address practical approaches to organizing an effective, multidisciplinary quality improvement program for sepsis patients.

Speakers

• Vincent Liu, MD, MS, Physician Scientist
• John Morehouse, MD, Regional Director of Inpatient Quality, and Assistant Chief of Emergency Medicine
• Carmen Adams, DNSc, RNC, Strategic Leader, Quality
