NYSPFP Health Care Disparities Initiative Kick-Off Webinar: Measuring for Improvement

On April 12, NYSPFP will host a webconference focused on strategies to improve Race, Ethnicity, and Language (REaL) data collection, measure improvement, and address potential disparities in patient care delivery.

The webinar will feature national expert, Aswita Tan-McGrory, MBA, MSPH, Deputy Director of the Disparities Solution Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. Ms. Tan-McGrory will provide guidance on best practices for collecting REaL and other social determinants of health data; explain why REaL data is important; and explain how hospitals can successfully improve self-reporting processes to increase data collection accuracy.

Additionally, NYSPFP staff will share tools and resources to support hospitals efforts with addressing disparities improving their REaL data collection practices and processes.

Who Should Attend

NYSPFP Key Liaisons are encouraged to attend the webinar, in addition to staff responsible for developing, implementing, or overseeing patient demographic data collection and reporting processes. Hospital staff responsible for addressing health care disparities are also encouraged to attend.
