NYSPFP will host in-person training workshops for frontline nurses and other direct care staff on building communication skills that will more effectively engage patients and family members. The training sessions are offered as a resource to hospitals' direct care staff to strengthen effective communication with colleagues, patients, and their family members during critical periods throughout the hospitalization. This includes bedside shift changes, multidisciplinary team rounding, and at the time of discharge.
Prior to attending an in-person training course, all registrants are asked to participate in this 45-minute pre-training webinar for an overview of the training's key topics. The pre-training webinar will prepare attendees to share challenging scenarios and optimize the training program. A brief "Idea-based" pre-conference assignment will also be addressed.
