VAE/Delirium Prevention: How to Hardwire the ABCDEF Bundle to Coordinate Care in the ICU

On June 7, NYSPFP will host a webinar focused on Ventilator Associated Event (VAE)/delirium reduction as part of its Critical Care Patient Safety Hub efforts. The webinar will feature national expert Wesley E. Ely, MD, MPH, professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tennessee, and founder of the Vanderbilt ICU Delirium and Cognitive Impairment Study Group.

During the webinar, Dr. Ely will discuss how to hardwire the ABCDEF bundle, with a specific focus on preventing and treating delirium as a component of the overall care patients receive in the intensive care unit (ICU). Tools and strategies will be provided to help staff learn how to operationalize the ABCDEF bundle in the ICU. Other topics that will be reviewed include sedation and pain medications, ventilators, and mobilization.
