NYSPFP-ACEP Webinar: Improving Sepsis Care in the ED

On Wednesday, February 24 NYSPFP will host the first webinar in a series focused on sepsis process improvement efforts.

The webinar will focus on approaches to help hospitals improve severe sepsis and septic shock care processes in the Emergency Department setting as well as the hardwiring of techniques to ensure consistent, reliable implementation of evidence-based information into emergency care practice. Featured guest speaker, Alan Jones, MD, FACEP Professor and Emergency Department Chairman of the University of Mississippi Medical Center will present on how he has operationalized best practices and optimized care for patients with severe sepsis and septic shock.

Leaders from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), including Arjun K. Venkatesh, MD MBA, MHS, of Yale University School of Medicine and ACEP, will also join the webinar to provide information about their Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) Support and Alignment Network (SAN) project to support clinicians’ quality improvement capacity to improve early identification and treatment of patients with sepsis.
