SSI/OR Safety Educational Webconference: Bundle Implementation Can Reduce SSI Rates

On December 3, NYSPFP will host a webinar to provide information on its “no harm across the board” approach to assist hospitals in addressing colon surgical site infections (SSI), including steps that can be implemented in the pre, intra and post-operative period. The webconference will feature Dr. Michael Timoney, Chief Quality Officer and Vice Chairman of Surgery at NYU Lutheran Medical Center. Dr Timoney will discuss how the colon bundle was operationalized within his hospital and the subsequent impact on colon SSI rates associated with bundle compliance.

How to join the Webconference

(begin logging in 15 minutes prior to start time) 

Please login on your computer first, before calling in for the audio portion of the webconference.

4. Click "Join Now" and fill in any additional information requested

When the webconference has loaded, a pop-up box will appear.  Click on the “I will call in” button and you will be provided with the call-in instructions. Do not close this until you have dialed into the conference.  We suggest writing the telephone number, your access code, and your attendee id number, as well, in case you get disconnected.

Who Should Attend

NYSPFP encourages hospitals’ colon SSI/OR safety surgical champions (including at a minimum, a colorectal surgeon, anesthetist, and OR nurse) to participate in this webinar. Quality improvement and infection prevention staffs are also encouraged to attend.
