Register Now: NYSPFP Advanced Quality Education

NYSPFP is pleased to announce that it will provide each NYSPFP-participating hospital site with five subscriptions to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School Program for the period of December 1, 2014, through November 30, 2015. NYSPFP believes these courses will provide an added benefit for hospitals working to embed quality improvement throughout their organizations. This offering is intended to provide quality leaders with advanced quality management knowledge in multiple domains. Register the NYSPFP liaison and four designated staff per hospital site. (Note: Each hospital site must be registered separately.)

About IHI Open School:
Offers 23 self-learning modules with more than 70 lesson plans available in patient safety, human factors, improvement science, patient- and family-centered care, quality and cost equation, and the triple aim.
• Continuing education units and certificates are available.
• The subscriptions include access to an IHI coordinator for assistance, if needed.
• Hospital NYSPFP liaisons and NYSPFP will receive attendance and completion reports for each hospital site.

Who To Contact

Please contact your project manager, Nancy Landor, or Zeynep Sumer King with any questions. Your immediate attention is needed as this registration process must be completed before the end of the NYSPFP activities on December 8, 2014.

Registration

• The NYSPFP liaison will receive one subscription for access to all information on the Open School site, and will designate four other staff for the program subscriptions.
• When selecting staff for participation, please ensure they do not already receive this benefit through membership in the National Association for Healthcare Quality or through other programs (e.g., if a hospital is affiliated with a college or university and has a subscription through this affiliation).
Register the NYSPFP liaison and four designated staff per hospital site. (Note: Each hospital site must be registered separately.)
• Registration deadline is December 5, 2014.
• Once contact information has been submitted through the registration process, IHI will send subscribers a guide that covers registering on the IHI website, if needed, a password for access to the Open School, how to set up your profile, using the site, and receiving Continuing Education Units and certificates.
