VTE Prevention and Treatment Series: NYS Hospital Experiences

This webinar is part of an NYSPFP educational series on VTE prevention and treatment. During this webinar representatives from hospitals in New York State will join to share their internal VTE efforts, experiences, best practices and lessons learned.

In addition to the educational series, NYSPFP and IPRO staff are available to provide one-on-one tailored support to hospitals in identifying best practices and developing targeted action plans. More information, including a full list of the NYSPFP VTE prevention and treatment series webinar dates, is available online. Materials from past sessions may also be accessed here.

How to join the Webconference

1. Click on the following link to begin logging on: https://nyspfp.webex.com/nyspfp/onstage/g.php?t=a&d=643973594
2. Enter your name and e-mail 
3. Enter the case-sensitive password: VTE123
4. Click the "Join Now" button.
5. Fill in any additional information requested.
6. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom right-hand side of your screen.

After loading, a pop-up box will appear with the following dial-in instructions:

• The toll-free phone number: (877) 668-4493 
• The Meeting ID number: 643 973 594
• Your unique Attendee ID number: ____ (Assigned when you log into the Webconference). You will need to key this number into the telephone to ensure your computer and telephone are linked.

Who Should Attend

Hospitals’ multidisciplinary VTE prevention and treatment teams are encouraged to participate given that a collaborative, team-based approach is necessary for significant and sustainable improvement. This may include: a physician leader, such as a hospitalist, pulmonologist, hematologist, surgeon, or critical care physician; a quality improvement professional; pharmacist and nursing representatives, as well as other frontline personnel involved with providing VTE prophylaxis in the hospital; anticoagulation safety team members; operating room safety team members; and data analytics representatives.
