Pressure Ulcer Improvement: Two-Part Webconference Series

NYSPFP will host a two-part educational webconference series on November 4 and November 18, from noon to 1 p.m., featuring Joyce Black, Ph.D., R.N., C.W.C.N., Director of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP). During the first session, Dr. Black will review the NPUAP pressure ulcer staging system and describe the difference between a pressure ulcer and other forms of skin breakdown. In the second session, Dr. Black will discuss the categories of support surfaces and product selection for preventing and treating hospital-acquired pressure ulcers.

How to join the Webconference

(begin logging on 15 minutes prior to start time)

1. Click on the following link to begin logging on: https://nyspfp.webex.com/nyspfp/onstage/g.php?t=a&d=648899036
2. Enter your name and e-mail 
3. Enter the case-sensitive password: Ulcer1
4. Click the "Join Now" button.
5. Fill in any additional information requested.
6. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom right-hand side of your screen.

After loading, a pop-up box will appear with the following dial-in instructions:

• The toll-free phone number: 1-877-668-4493
• The Meeting ID number: 648 899 036
• Your unique Attendee ID number: ____ (Assigned when you log into the Webconference). You will need to key this number into the telephone to ensure your computer and telephone are linked.

Who Should Attend

Hospitals’ multidisciplinary pressure ulcer team members are encouraged to participate, which may include: wound care specialist, physician, nurse, nutritionist, dietician, quality lead, physical therapist, pain management specialist, pharmacists, infection preventionists and case managers.
