SSI/OR Safety Educational Webconference: Reduce Colon SSI through Effective Glucose Management

NYSPFP will host an educational Webconference for hospital surgical and quality improvement teams featuring Shaun Sullivan, MD, Perioperative Medical Director, Anesthesiologist at the Skagit Valley Hospital, Mount Vernon, Washington and Bellingham Anesthesia Associates and Janice Whitman, RN, MSN, Clinical Nurse Specialist at Skagit Valley Hospital. Dr. Sullivan and Ms. Whitman will discuss how they developed, implemented, and operationalized their hospital’s glucose management protocol for surgical patients. Additionally, Dr. Sullivan and Ms. Whitman will share their glycemic management protocols in the pre, intra and post-operative periods.

6. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom right-hand side of your screen.

After loading, a pop-up box will appear with the following dial-in instructions:

• The Meeting ID number: 647 065 637 
• Your unique Attendee ID number: ____ (Assigned when you log into the Webconference) You will need to key this number into the telephone to ensure your computer and telephone are linked.


Who Should Attend

NYSPFP encourages hospitals’ Colon SSI/OR Safety Surgical Champions (including at a minimum, a colorectal surgeon, anesthetist, and OR nurse) to participate in this webinar. Quality improvement and infection prevention staffs are also encouraged to attend. We also encourage you to invite your adverse drug events teams working on reducing insulin related events to participate on the webinar.
