NYSPFP Engagement Conference: Inspiring Change through Culture & Leadership

Wednesday, March 14, 2012
10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
GNYHA Conference Center, 15th Floor, 555 West 57th Street, New York City
Please join us on March 14 for the NYS Partnership for Patients (NYSPFP) Engagement Conference: Inspiring Change Through Culture & Leadership. This event for leadership and the primary NYSPFP liaisons from each participating institution will kick off NYSPFP's seminal initiative to reduce hospital-acquired conditions and preventable readmissions. This is the first in a series of cross-cutting programs to build culture and leadership in hospitals throughout New York State.

This event is designed to be interactive. To participate fully, we urge you to attend in person. For those beyond a reasonable distance from New York City, the conference will be available via Webcast, but we strongly encourage you to participate in person.

• Joseph McCannon, Senior Advisor to the Administrator and Group Director for Learning and Diffusion, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will deliver the keynote address.
• Arthur A. Levin, Director, Center for Medical Consumers, will contextualize NYSPFP's work within the patient experience of care.
• William Powers, the father of a full-term baby who died at delivery due to a medical error. William and his wife, Suzanne Powers, who experienced complications during delivery resulting in a hysterectomy and months of rehabilitation, co-founded the Luke Vincent Powers Foundation, which funds programs for disadvantaged children.

The program will include presentations by NYSPFP staff on the project's next steps and will feature several guest speakers.
