Regional Patient and Family Engagement Forum

Friday, July 19, 2013
9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
GNYHA Conference Center
555 W. 57th Street, 15th Floor
Patient and family engagement remains a national and local Partnership for Patients priority. NYSPFP is holding a regional in-person information sharing session focused on strategies for hospitals to effectively engage patients and family members as true partners in their care. This meeting will be a forum for hospitals to share their experiences and activities related to patient and family engagement with peers from other institutions in the region, as well as an opportunity to collectively brainstorm about solutions to common challenges in this area. During this forum, hospitals will discuss strategies and interventions that have been used to engage patients and families in their care and at an organizational level with regard to safety and quality. For example, some strategies or interventions that we would like to discuss include: engaging patients and families as members of their care team; facilitating communication among patients, family members, and the care team, and; supporting patient or family member education, knowledge, skills, or abilities.
