SSI/OR Safety Educational Webconference: Essentials for Successfully Implementing an Effective Brief, Debrief or Timeout

NYSPFP staff and clinical experts, Robert Welsh, M.D., Vice Chief of Surgical Services for Patient Safety, Quality, and Outcomes at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan and John Di Capua, M.D., The Peter Walker Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine, will review how to implement and conduct a successful brief, debrief and time out, measure the impact of implementation, and provide meaningful feedback to hospital staff.

5. Fill in any additional information requested.
6. Click the “Submit” button at the bottom right-hand side of your screen.

After loading, a pop-up box will appear with the following dial-in instructions:

• The Meeting ID number: 648 816 288
• Your unique Attendee ID number: ____ (Assigned when you log into the Webconference) You will need to key this number into the telephone to ensure your computer and telephone are linked.

This Webconference will be presented with Closed Captioning. Who Should Attend

NYSPFP encourages your hospital’s SSI/OR Safety Surgical Champions (including at a minimum, surgeon, anesthetist, OR nurse) to participate. Quality improvement and patient safety staff and infection preventionists are also encouraged to participate.
